On Saturday, September 27th, the quiet little building at the corner of Main Street and Nelson Street in Port Dover transformed into something unforgettable. Inside the Erie Masonic Lodge—usually a low-key, almost hidden spot—Norfolk’s own party band Albatross rocked the house and had the whole community on its feet.
From the outside, the lodge is easy to miss. But step through the doors, head downstairs, and you’re in another world. The space has the feel of a secret speakeasy: tucked away, humming with energy, and filled with the sound of live music and laughter.
Every Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., the lodge sheds its quiet exterior and becomes one of the county’s liveliest music halls. Locals know it, and newcomers quickly discover it—the kind of hidden gem that makes you feel like you’re part of something special. With drinks flowing, friends catching up, and a dance floor that never seems to sit still, it’s become a community ritual.
When Albatross hit the stage, the atmosphere lit up. Every track was a classic, every chorus a sing-along, and every song had the crowd moving. From start to finish, the setlist was wall-to-wall bangers—proof once again why the band has earned its reputation as Norfolk’s favorite party band.
The Erie Masonic Lodge may be unassuming on the outside, but on Saturdays it’s anything but. With live music, good company, and an unmistakable buzz in the air, it’s where Port Dover comes alive.
