There’s a new dog groomer in town, ready to give your pet a show-quality look. Alexx
Westcott moved to Port Dover in March with her fiancé Chad and her 6 month old
puppy Rabbitt. Alexx brings with her almost 15 years of experience and has been
working professionally as a pet groomer for the past ten years.

Alexx has compassion and love to share with all furry critters. From Mutts to Monroe,
Alexx’s grooming business, is located in the east end of Port Dover.

“I prefer to call myself a pet groomer, instead of a dog groomer,” Alexx explained. “I love
to work with cats, too, brushing, nails, trims, baths. Everything the pet needs.”

While living and working in the Orangeville area before making the move to Port Dover,
Alexx worked as a groomer for select clients, and as the assistant manager of a kennel
with forty-five show Westies (West Highland Terriers), a smart and active breed that
Alexx helped groom, train and show.

“I learned a lot from those sweet dogs,” Alexx confided.

Alexx runs her business a little differently. She does not have kennels full of anxious
pets waiting to be groomed. Each pet gets a spa like one-on-one experience in a
peaceful setting.

“I love the feeling of helping dogs and even grumpy cats. I especially love working with
senior dogs or pets with disabilities. I get completely lost in the moment which I think
helps the pet. They don’t get stressed because I’m not stressed.”
